PostFinance Sprint
30.09.2006

I was invited by the Swiss Federation to
participate in the world’s most comprehensive speed race in Bern
which was sponsored by Postfinance. The first day of the race was in
Schwarzenburg forest at 1700mt altitude. The 5,8km, 290mt climb was
quite tiring and my time was 56:52. Marc Lauenstein captured the
first place spot with a 38:50 time and Simone Niggli is the
unchanging name for first place in the women’s race. I did not
qualify for finals on the second day because I was not among the
first 25 finishers.

27.Greifenseelauf Marathon
16.09.2006
Uster,
in Switzerland’s Zurich Canton, hosted the International Greifen
Lake Half-Marathon. There were a wide range of participants with
16,000 people from all different age groups. Only 30 percent of the
race was on the roads and the rest was on the trails around the
lake. My first 10km was slow but I was able to pick up my pace when
I found people to run with at a faster pace. My average pace was
4,18min/km and I high heeled it at the last kilometer and finished
it in 3.20min/km. I placed 76th with a finishing time of
1:30.

Olg Pfäffikon
10.09.2006

I want to
thank Olg Pfäffikon club and Thomas Dätwyler for allowing me to
practice there and use their facilities. The Olg Pfäffikon club has
been active for the past 50 years with their map practice which is
two times a week and running practice once a week. They are helping
to advance and develop Orienteering as a sport.
